Singer's Workout at Chromolume
An opportunity to refine your singing book and develop new material, with an experienced coach and a room of seasoned fellow performers.
Join coach/accompanist Brenda Varda in a weekly workout, where you can polish audition and performance pieces. Perfect your process of working on songs, while getting valuable, experienced feedback. Whether legit or pop or rock or jazz, this workshop allows you to identify intent, styles, and technique - and refine your performance goals. During the 4-week session, artists will pick 2-3 songs, and up the performance game with strategies to reach a new level of excellence.
Each class will begin with a short warm-up and then do two rounds of performance -- the first with in-depth critique and discussion, and the second with each artist having the chance to 'redux' - taking the feedback and bringing it performance. Varda has developed a critique system that supports each artist, and also targets individual issues so that singers reach new heights...so at the end of four-weeks you’ll have new and/or refined material.
We'll also bring in guest directors once a month, giving singers a chance for feedback from the other side of the table. AND - every 8 weeks- there will be an opportunity to do a performers' concert at Chromolume.
Classes sessions are Saturday mornings from 1030am to 1pm.
